Don M. Owen, Jr. is President of Quantitative Intelligence Solutions, LLC, a company that provides clients consulting services in analytical and strategic management systems. Prior to forming this business in April of 2013, Don was Vice President, Business Integration with Mannington Mills, Inc., a manufacturer of hard and soft surface flooring products based in southern New Jersey. Don’s past responsibilities include corporate Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, Supply Chain performance enhancement, R&D, and Installation Technology.
Prior to joining Mannington in May of 2002 as Director of Operational Excellence, Don was President of Process Excellence Systems, Inc., a company specializing in operational excellence and strategy deployment in the flooring, glass manufacturing, contract packaging, paper, and financial services industries.
Over the past 26 years Don has held positions in engineering, operations, and R&D with several Fortune 500 industries including:
Paper – Kimberly-Clark Corp. (1991 – 1997),
Carpet – Shaw Industries, Inc. (1990 – 1991),
and Aluminum – Alcoa (1988 – 1990)
Don received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a certificate in Economics (1988), and has an MBA from Kennesaw State University (1999). Don was an ASQ certified quality engineer (1993 - 2007) and is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (Air Academy Associates – 2004) with a specialization in Design for Lean Six Sigma.
Don has a doctorate in business administration from Wilmington University. Don's doctoral thesis examined and modeled (using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling) the decision making process used by executives regarding acceptance and use of technology-enabled solutions for conducting market research.
Don has taught hundreds of individuals over the years in applied statistics, voice of customer techniques, analytical market research methods, strategy deployment, and Lean and Six Sigma at the Black Belt and Green Belt levels.
